Michigan health department urges residents living near Palisades nuclear power plant to have potassium iodide pills on hand

“Our hope is that there will never be an accident where these pills would be needed,” said Dean Sienko, the interim chief medical executive at the MDCH. “By making KI available, we are giving the public an opportunity to add an extra measure of protection in the unlikely event of a radiation exposure.”
